Ramblings... some times I do things...

and I have no idea why © Mazeguy going to meez.com is a classic example of this. Once more, I have no idea how I ended up there let alone why I did © Mazeguy

I'm more than happy with my Yahoo! Avatar, in fact I'm really quite attached to it so I had and have no desire to get, or use, another one, so avatars weren't a driving force for me. I also don't really need yet another website login and password to remember so the fact that you have to register at meez.com was off putting... not because I don't think you should because I do see a need for it... it was quite simply because I couldn't get a username that I knew I would easily remember. All my stock standard usernames were unavailable so I ended up with "beegeek"... all things considered it's simple enough I guess, but as that one is a last resort I know, from past experience, I'm going to blow the first 3-5 login attempts with my stock standard usernames, then I hit a brick wall entering possible email addresses that I could have used at signup so I can try to retrieve my login details and password... but all that is a me issue not a meez issue... for which I take full responsibility... old age © Mazeguy

But end up at meez I did, and now I'm a fully registered member who can meet and greet other meez members. At my disposal I have a PM box for easy contact and a Chat Box that you can take anywhere... all seriously cool tools that I can well imagine will take off as you can plant your chat box on your own website or blog so that you can catch up with other meez friends right at your own door step...

Get your own Meez avatar! | Chat by xat.com

For me, I'm pretty sure I wont be using the the PM and Chat are features any time soon, time is an issue, and maintaining yet another means of online communication is just not going to happen © Mazeguy The chat box is a great idea though, they are provided by xat.com who has some really funky stuff so swing by their website for a gander over your next coffee.

As per my norm I whittled away a fair bit of time constructing my (not needed) avatar... I'm beginning to think it's an addiction for which meez honed in on while I wasn't looking © Mazeguy

Creating your avatar with the meezmaker is dead easy to do, you can Change Your Look (skin colours, eye colour, hairstyles, beauty product applications and even nose shape), Change Your Clothes (tops, bottoms, accesssories, shoes, swimwear, costumes etc), Animations (like attitude, eat/drink, gadgets, music dancing, sports toys etc) and Backgrounds (beach, groovy, landmarks, music, social causes etc).. I had a really awesome time... some of the Animations cracked me up no end © Mazeguy In the end I settled on what I considered a sedate look.. in fitting with my age, lifestyle and personality © Mazeguy

Exporting your meez couldn't be easier, once you've logged in, created your meez and you're ready to show it off just hit the Export button, click on Get Links and Images and you're away laughing. The options are good.. but not the best.. for me I found they were either too small or too large and I'm left wondering if I'm actually missing something... I deperately wanted to zoom in, then export but either the button or feature eludes me at this stage.

Static Headshot Exports
48x48 66x66 100x100

Static Bodyshot Exports
175x260 (52kb) 300x400 (96kb)

Animated Bodyshot Exports
175x233 (83kb) 300x400 (207kb)

The animated body shots (shown above) are dang impressive when you consider that they are .gif files, the motion, if not a little fast, is fluid and easy on the eye but the files are certainly weighty (83kb - 207kb) so I wouldn't be too keen to throw them around which again is why it would be nice if meez gave us the option to zoom and crop our images allowing animated, closeup head shots © Mazeguy

There is a nice FAQ section available and inside it you will find Instant Messenger & VOIP Export which offers step by step instructions for exporting your meez and then using it as your display image in AIM, ICQ, iChat, MSN Messenger, Pulver Communicator, Skype and Yahoo! Messenger. You can also export a billboard which allows you to earn meez coins which you can use to buy items to use in your meezmaker.. again it's kinda large for my liking but that's just a personal thing.. don't be put of taking one for a test drive yourself © Mazeguy
